We were excited to welcome Mr. Carrillo’s dad to campus last week, where he shared his incredible lowrider with our 6th-grade students!
Not only did students get an up-close look at the car, but they also learned about the rich history of lowriders, connections to Chicano studies, and the cultural significance behind this unique art form. He even gave insight into the mechanics of lowriders, explaining how hydraulics work to make these cars move in such impressive ways.
It was an engaging, hands-on experience that brought history, culture, and science together in a memorable way. Thank you to Mr. Carrillo’s dad for taking the time to inspire and educate our students!
